Magical white landscapes in Alta Pusteria

Snow flurries, winter tales & fun on the slopes. "Leise rieselt der Schnee, still und starr ruht der See" (A popular song: The snow falls slowly and silently and the Lake is frozen and still). If Alta Pusteria's Snow Lady waves her wand and produces a white winter landscape, there is nothing to beat going out in the snow, for some downhill or cross-country skiing, tobogganing or winter hiking.

With the Val Pusteria Ski Express, you can access 94 kilometres of slopes in the 3 Cime Dolomiti ski area. Or if you take the train to Sella Ronda, you can enjoy 119 km of slopes at the No. 1 ski resort of Plan de Corones.

If crowds are not for you, maybe you prefer cross-country skiing? If so, you should try out the cross-country trail used for the Val Pusteria marathon, which takes you from Villabassa to Dobbiaco. Other great places for cross-country skiers are the Anterselva Biathlon and Cross-Country Centre and the Dobbiaco Nordic Arena.

NEW: You can store your skis in our new ski room.

Are you looking for fun away from the slopes? Get ready for some ski mountaineering & winter hiking. Leave the first footprints in freshly fallen snow; enjoy the silence and the crisp mountain air. These are our top recommendations for winter hikes and snowshoe excursions: the Prato Piazza plateau, Monte Specie, the trail from Passo Monte Croce to the Nemes mountain hut, or a trip through the delightful Val Fiscalina at Sesto. Those who want to go higher up and further afield, and who are in search of a pristine environment, can plan a ski mountaineering tour of the Three Peaks Circuit, to Croda del Becco (2,810 m), to Giovo Grande (2,480 m) and much else besides.
